Process
First Sketch For Story Board
- (We have a different art style. This is just to visualize our storyline.)
- The story summary is below the storyboard.
Consultation / Lecture Feedback
Consultation Feedback 03 - 24/02/25
This week, we presented a brief sketch of our mood board and explained to Mr. Zeon how our video will look in terms of visuals and storyline.
1. Mood board Improvements
- Add more video clip inspirations and photos.
- The visual concept is not fully clear yet.
2. Character Backgrounds & Storytelling
- If characters have different backgrounds and past stories, will these be reflected in the visual storytelling?
3. Concept Clarity Concern
- The idea feels abstract when explained.
- Concerned that the execution may still be abstract, making it difficult for the audience to understand the story.
Consultation Feedback 04 - 03/03/25
This week, we presented our final storyboard to the lecturer, and he suggested that we include more of the following:
Mood board & Visualization
- Before creating the mood board, compile all visual elements into one slide.
- Gather all colors into a single presentation slide for clarity.
Scene Composition & Visual Cohesion
- Avoid redundancy by not placing the heart both on the scene and on the wall, as it may weaken the audience’s experience.
- The floor should feature a different visual graphic that correlates with the heart. For example, if the heart is beating, the floor should pulse accordingly.
Storyboard & Art Style
- Maintain a consistent art style throughout all storyboards.
- Ensure that graphics match the final intended format.
- Research and identify artists with a similar visual style for reference.
Scene Structure & Flow
- Organize the narrative starting with Scene 1 – Exposition to establish the setting and context.
Visual Depth & Layering
- Address the issue of flat-layered visuals to enhance depth (unless the flat effect is intentional and effective).
For this assignment, the process of creating our storyboard went pretty smoothly since we already had a solid idea from the start. We didn’t run into any major issues, but once we started drawing, we realized that each of us had interpreted our parts a little differently. Because of that, the first version of our storyboard didn’t flow as well as we had hoped. To fix this, we adjusted certain parts of the story and had detailed discussions about how we wanted it to look. We also searched for mood boards and inspiration to make everything smoother and ensure the different sections connected better.
At the same time, we worked on the music and sound. We all did some research, selected tracks that fit well, and put them together into a test soundtrack for the project. However, the biggest challenge was making sure the visuals and story aligned properly. After further discussions and research, we found ways to improve it.
Overall, this assignment gave me a clearer picture of what we can do for the final project and helped us refine our ideas moving forward.
