Process

To begin this assignment, our group sat on the ground and brainstormed the meaning of "pause" along with its key concepts.

After our first group discussion, we had a rough idea centered around the theme of celebrity. However, we decided to explore further. At the same time, each of us conducted case studies by researching two examples, and in the end, we selected two case studies for a more in-depth analysis.

(Initial Sketches and Ideas – Only Two Selected for Further Study)

We came up with several projection mapping concepts. However, after reviewing them, we realized that three of our ideas were similar to those of other groups. After discussing with the lecturer, we decided to pursue the Butterfly Effect + Love concept, as we all felt it would be an exciting and engaging direction for our project.

To refine our idea, we researched the Butterfly Effect, love, and dance to enhance our storytelling. At the same time, we polished our concept, structured our narrative, and created slides to clearly present our vision.

Consultation / Lecture Feedback

Consultation Feedback 01 - 10/02/25

This week, we presented our mind map, which is still in a rough stage and includes six different ideas. The feedback we received was as follows:

  • The "Cycle of Life" concept feels similar to many other ideas (e.g., animals + humans, the cycle of life, the Big Bang).
  • Consider combining "The Butterfly Effect" with "Love" or "The Butterfly Effect" with "Animals + Humans."
  • The issue or awareness aspect of the "Love" concept is not yet clear.
  • Does not want a completely abstract visual.
  • When creating the storyboard, avoid a typical love story—think of ways to make it more unique and engaging.
  • Decide on the title you want to pursue.
  • The keywords "Togetherness," "Movement," and "Dancer" should be reflected in the story for a compelling narrative.
  • Connect with the story through emotion, movement, and togetherness (NO typical love story, please).
NEXT WEEK - Digital Mind Map , Love & Butterfly Effect (Combined Concept Mind Map)

Consultation Feedback 02 - 17/02/25

This week, we have finalized our story and are ready to present it. We would like to receive feedback from the lecturer to ensure it aligns with the intended themes and meets the requirements.

Reflection
For this assignment, we worked on creating content for a projection mapping project for PALSUE. We started with brainstorming and gradually developed our concept. Throughout this process, I had the opportunity to improve my teamwork skills and gain a deeper understanding of content development. I learned that creating strong content requires thorough research to support our ideas rather than just coming up with something on the spot, making research a crucial part of this assignment.

Since I hadn't worked in a group for a semester, I had to readjust to a collaborative working style. Initially, we faced some challenges in generating ideas, which required us to engage in problem-solving. However, through group discussions, we overcame these obstacles and found a solid direction for our project.

Overall, this assignment helped me strengthen my research, teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity skills.
