In this proposal, I have included three game ideas, along with the inspiration (game analysis) and gameplay details for each.
Titles for the Game Ideas:
Quest for the Scattered Crystals
An exploration game where players collect items and return them to their owner.Hide and Seek
A horror-themed adventure where players search for children and attempt to escape a haunted house.Parkour in the Underground City
A parkour game where players must navigate an underground city and make their way back to the surface.
Inspiration (Game Analysis):
- Terraria: Inspiration for exploration and item collection mechanics.
- Identity V: Influence on the horror and hide-and-seek elements.
- Super Mario: Basis for platforming and parkour mechanics.
Art Style:
- Bright and Colorful Pixel Art: Ideal for capturing an adventurous and vibrant feel.
- Pixel Art with Dark Tones: Suitable for creating a horror atmosphere with a mysterious ambiance.
- Gritty Pixel Art: Perfect for a rugged, underground environment in the parkour game
Character Inspiration / Reference
18/10/24 Consultation
Feedback from lecture (before submitting ):
- Overall, the game concept is clear and detailed. Below is specific feedback on each idea and guidance for refining the proposal.
Feedback on Game Ideas:
Idea 1:
- This idea is the most suitable; proceed with this proposal and present only the first idea.
- The proposal is generally strong but needs more depth regarding the demons and creatures. Consider expanding on:
- Types of Demons/Creatures: Describe their characteristics and classifications.
- Attack Methods: Explain how they attack, including weapon details and attack styles.
- Incorporate more visual references for the demons and creatures (such as anime or similar artistic influences).
- To enhance this idea, expand on the puzzle mechanics, as the current gameplay pace is slow.
- Include more detective elements to make it engaging; otherwise, simply finding children may become monotonous.
- Parkour movement is crucial and should be highlighted.
- This idea requires extensive visual elements to make the experience dynamic.
Overall Recommendation:
- Use Idea 1 for the proposal, as it is the most fitting option.
In this assignment, I was able to brainstorm and explore different ideas for a game, giving me the opportunity to think about the type of game I wanted to create. During the brainstorming process, I didn’t struggle much with the storyline or the beginning. However, as I continued, I started to get a little confused with what I had written and the changes I made, and I also got stuck on deciding what sounds to add for the enemy. Overall, this assignment allowed me to unleash my creativity and make the project interesting.
