Week 09

Task/exercise: Continue with Metaverse 

check and recreate on studio and gallery floor plane 


A brief idea on how to insert all the item


Create Glasses in blender
  • select object 
  • go to material 
  • change 'Alpha' to Alpha Blend '
  • Adjust 'Alpha ' on top for the glass how clear you want 

Week 10

Continue on metaverse- Done with floor plane starting to insert things in side spatial.io for (art studio ) 


 








How to add interact with the chair 

Create a chair

Add-empty-sphere 

Move the hemisphere( from empty) on top of the cube (half of the circle only)-name it "-hotstop"

Add, empty ,cube(locate at the exactly same place of the chair( name it"3DSMeshMetrix")

Add, empty ,cube(locate it at the exactly same place on the chair again name it"RootNode"

Put "3DSMeshMatrix" inside "RootNode"

Orange box go to parents

Pick RootNode

-"hotspot" pick the #DsMEshMatrix

Move to the empty back to the original space

Export to glb

Final outcome in spatial.io

Adobe illustrator (AI) to 3D
AI
  • insert image 
  • select image trace
  • select -object- expend  - object /fill -ok 
  • select things you do not wanted -delete 
Blender 
  • save as "SVG" - go blender import 
  • adjust the size and the place (move and rotate)
  • select the logo -select curve -select 3D
  • **if 2D choose extrude under geometry  (adjust extrude)
  • object -convert -mesh 
  • ctrl +J (join into 1)
  • ***can choose Bevel  and adjust the edge 

when export go to render change the(Render Engine to cycles ) -go to bake  **only apply when there is materials 


Week 11

Continue on metaverse (Art gallery )

Creating a 3D logo for the metaverse and also inserting things in to the metaverse 





Week 12

Ploy haven - set spatioal.io environment 

  1. go to HDRI (web)
  2. download (image / texture/background )in the website 
  3. go to blender
  4. add sphere
  5. shade the sphere smooth 
  6. add material
  7. base - colour texture
  8. apply HDRI texture (the downloaded one 
  9. export glb 
  10. spatial.io import "skybox"
Reduce wireframe 
  • go to modifier 
  • select 'decimate' or 'remesh'  /go to green triangle at right panel
  • select 'remesh'

Week 13

Final presentation

Research and redesign the floor plan for gallery

  • Ask on the image how to make it brighter in blender animation 

Feedback on new metaverse (Gallery)

  • Create contrast for euro vision (on wall)
  • For the interactive the line spacing will need to change higher or make the bottoms gap bigger 
  • the leaves is not green enough (adjust the color)
  • the center pillar for interactive in too outstanding 
  • add some color for the lower level for interactive 
  • add some introduction at the bottoms for the space upstairs (artwork /material)
  • Try to avoid black in reception area  
  • Create a frame for the entrance to enhance and create a perspective for it
  • Maybe some line lead toward the tunnel to create connection 
  • The directory are too stand up
  • Try to link every things together 
  • Try to bring the floor and the wall together make to together /blend it (use straight or curve line)



Week 09-14 Reflection

Throughout weeks 9-14, I have gained more knowledge about what a metaverse is and have also acquired some skills in creating floor plans for a space. In this process, the biggest challenge I faced was making the space more fun and interesting, as well as creating contrast. However, I overcame it after having a consultation with Mr. Max. In these six weeks, I feel that I have improved and polished my skills in collaboration with others in a team. I have also enhanced my elaboration and creative thinking skills.



Week 01-14 Overall Reflection

In the first term of BISD Spatial Design 1, I have gained several new pieces of knowledge and a better understanding of what spatial design entails. Throughout the first seven weeks of lectures, I have developed a deeper understanding of basic design principles and experienced interactive spaces at RexKL. In RexKL, I have also gained some interesting insights into what happens behind the scenes, which are new and fascinating to me. 

However, at the beginning of the project, I felt lost in creating a metaverse, but eventually, I understood it. Even though I believe there is room for improvement in the interactive part of this metaverse, progress is being made. Nevertheless, the biggest challenge I faced throughout the module is actually understanding what we are doing. I have realized that I need to improve my skill in understanding and also polish my presentation skills for the final presentation. However, this module was quite new to me.
